- The Graduate College at the Friedrich-Alexander-University Erlangen, financed by the Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft and the State of Bavaria, concentrates on inter- and intracultural processes of understanding on the individual and group level. Apart from phenomena of cultural difference it examines those of transdifference on the basis of the overlap of identifications and the combination of loyalities across boundaries, taking into account the resulting hermeneutical problems.
- Currently, the Graduate College is completing its final period; its work terminates in March 2010.
